Over the last few years, there have been several books I’ve started and not finished. Or kept coming back to, but would read in other books in between. One of my reading resolutions this year was to actually finish those books. So far…I am not doing well.
Here’s a rundown of what I have bookmarks in to come back to:
1. American Gods
My apologies to Gaiman fans. I do enjoy reading it, but someone I always pick it up at the wrong time. I initially started reading it ahead of the show starting – before realizing I did not get the channel it’s on. This is possible.
2. The Gentleman in Moscow
I don’t know why this one hasn’t been finished. I enjoy it and have had no issues jumping back into it. But I’ve paused twice – once briefly, the second, well, it’s been awhile.
3. Les Miserables
It’s really long. This isn’t going to happen straight through. I made it 200 pages before pausing. I’m back to reading this now. It’s a good story, I’m enjoying reading it – but it’s just so long.
4. Alexander Hamilton
See above – it’s really long. Yeah, needed a break. A year later, I still need to get back to it. Seriously, it’s good, and I feel like everyone should read it.
5. Two Years, Eight Months, Twenty-Eight Nights
I may need to start over with this one. The last time I picked it up I was lost. And speaking of lost, I lost my copy and the library keeps wanting their copy back. Anyone finished it? Do I keep going?
